What is Infrared?

Infrared light (experienced as heat) is the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum with the ability to penetrate human tissue, giving a soothing, natural warmth.

Our special solocarbon far-infrared sauna in raises the body’s core temperature rather than simply heating the air. This method produces a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level where the majority of toxins reside.

How Safe is Infrared?

Infrared heat is a naturally occurring form of energy produced by the sun and does not include the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays associated with unprotected sun exposure. Infrared heat has long been used in medical and wellness settings, including hospitals, where it is commonly used to help maintain warmth in newborn infants.

Infrared saunas use a concentrated form of infrared heat, and while generally well tolerated, there are important considerations for use. Infrared sauna sessions are not recommended during pregnancy at any stage. Clients under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the infrared sauna unless accompanied by a supervising adult.

 

Proper hydration is essential prior to sauna use. Inadequate hydration or nutrition may increase the risk of lightheadedness, dizziness, or heat exhaustion. We strongly encourage drinking water before and after your session.

If you have chronic heart disease, circulatory conditions, or any condition that affects your ability to sweat or regulate body temperature, please consult your healthcare provider before using an infrared sauna.
